Clearly you are going to want to set aside a whole day to prepare your costume, but in case you have extra time, here are some great things to do around Seminole! For varying definitions of “around”. Seminole also has some good restaurants to try!

Things To Do Nearby

THE BEACH!
Sunbathing, swimming, building sand castles, collecting shells, playing beach volleyball… you know the drill.

How to get there: Drive west until you hit water! Or, depending on where you’re staying, walk outside. There are lots of different places to park (including the street), but one of the largest (that also has bathrooms!) is North Redington Shores.
Hours: Dawn till dusk
Cost: Free! Or a few dollars, depending on where you park.

The Florida Botanical Gardens
30 acres of cultivated gardens and 90 acres of “natural landscapes”, I have seen all kinds of awesome birds and other animals at the botanical gardens! Tropical fruit garden is also a winner. So many kinds of bananas!

How to get there: 12520 Ulmerton Road, Largo, FL 33774. It’s about 6 minutes from my house!

Heritage Village
Heritage Village is a living history museum with 28 historic homes and buildings moved there from all around Pinellas County! Including a sponge warehouse! I’m not even sure what that is!

How to get there: It’s right next to the Botanical Gardens. Seriously, I haven’t figured out a way to get back to my car in the Botanical Parking Lot that involves NOT walking through Heritage Village.
Hours: 10am-4pm Wednesday-Saturday; 1-4pm Sunday
Cost: Free

County Parks
Pinellas County has a ridiculous amount of really awesome parks! Two of the best and closest are Walsingham and Boca Ciega Millennium. Walsingham has lots of cool playground equipment, a dog park, lots of paved trails, the Walsingham reservoir, and the best swings in Pinellas County. For serious. Boca Ciega Millennium has boardwalk trails, a dog park, a playground, and a three story observation tower that looks out over the intracoastal waterway!

This place has been updated hardcore recently, and is now the single coolest building in all of Florida.

Also, so much Dali right now! I love it. Even if you’re not that into art, you definitely will too!

Fort De Soto Park
This is a great place to go if you want to see what Florida beaches looked like before we built tacky gift shops and pastel colored hotels all over them. Also, it has a historic fort!

Busch Gardens Tampa is WAY better than Busch Gardens Virginia since it has awesome roller coasters and a bunch of animals chilling on the fake Serengeti.
